Last night in Switzerland

Hey we have already booked 3 nights in Interlaken but have one more night we just aren't sure where to spend it - the night of 12 April. We are tossing up between Luzern, Bern or Geneva - We fly out of Geneva at 2 pm on the 13th of April.

Any ideas? What place has more to do? We would obviously get an early start on the 12th so we can have a fair bit of time in whatever city we choose and we would also be leaving pretty early on the 13th.

Also we have the select pass for 7 trips (got a free one on promo). Would this allow us to say take a train from Interlaken to Luzern then from Luzern to Geneva on one trip on the one day or is that two separate trips altogether? I think its probably 2 but I thought i'd just check just in case :-)

Only 6 days now till we go!! Thanks to everyone who has helped with all my sillly questions :-)

from my perspective, Luzern is the best choice. it's the smallest of the three, i find smaller places have more charm, yet are often overlooked.

the lion monument is interesting but, to me, the lake is the best thing there.

however, as your flight is from Genf (Geneva), you could even go to Annecy, a French town a ways south of there. [or, is your selectpass for Switzerland only] France, being Eurozone, would probably be less costly.

Evian-les-Bains, of Evian water fame, is even closer. never been, but Chirac held a G-8 summit meeting there in Spring 2003. beautiful places are always chosen for those summit meetings.

chelle84, if your flight is at 2pm, you might be better off staying either in Geneva or somewhere close by for ease of transport to the airport. I like David's suggestions, especially Evian-les-Bains, so look into them, or perhaps use the time to explore Geneva's old town if you get there in the afternoon of the 12th, plus have time for a bit of a wander in the morning before going to the airport. I know we don't always recommend staying in Geneva on these boards, but in this case if you have a day and it makes sense geographically speaking then I'd suggest staying there and having some time to wander around.
