Hi all! I plan on going to Europe and am looking at bags for me to take. I am looking at a luggage set that comes with a small backpack that would work as a daypack. The whole set is in bright pink, yes ok, I'm a girly girl. My question being, would it's color be a target for theives? Should I just go with plain old black? Or has it not proven a problem for anybody else who's had a daypack other than black. Even if I don't get this pack, I'd like to get something with a little color Thanks!

There is already enough black in the world. (or very dark red, and blue for that matter)
You have me wondering if it would be more attractive to thieves or not. At least it would make you stand out more, and in that way attract more attention. As a thieve you could also come to the conclusion, that if it attracts more attention for him/her it would also do for other people, and therefor making it for a thieve less attractive, because too many people would be watching.
In short: I have no idea ...
one other point: are you sure you want to go traveling with your pink back in 5 years time?

Yeah, i'm with Herrbert on this one. But you don't want a backpack? That's what struck out to me, you want luggage... Hum... maybe I missunderstood!

Thanks for the replies guys. And to answer your questions: Hmm, that's a good point about wanting it in 5 years time. But I will just be using this backpack as a daypack, it's not a $300 backpack, so it won't be a huge loss if years down the road I don't like it anymore. And the backpack comes in a luggage set I'm buying for a "non-backpacking" trip I'm taking with my family
