Hey everyone, my question is this. I will be in Barcelona this summer for 5 nights, and it is likely that I will be going to the beach. I have read that you should keep your money belt on you at all times and bring it with you to the shower and all, but how do I do this at the beach? I will be with three friends of mine fyi. thanks -Brett

My opinion - it's safest if you all take turns. Otherwise, you can get waterproof money belts, although I'm not sure I'd trust it with a passport and money. Will you be staying at a hostel with a safe? I'd lock those up, and probably take only a little cash and a credit card to the beach.

Good suggestions from WT. "Taking turns" is probably the most practical method of dealing with this, as it allows the group to bring a small Camera along as well (something that probably wouldn't fit into a waterproof pouch). If you're interested in having a look at "waterproof money belts", check the SplashCaddy at www.magellans.com (it's about the only one I know of). Cheers!!!

just put it in the locker at the hotel/hostel and put the key around your wrist with a rubber band if it has an eyelet. Then you don't have to worry about it.

Well, i won one of those waterproof belts from this site a couple years ago. I used it only once in the bathtub (what, you gotta test it before you trust it) and it didn't leak through at all, although it was kind of humid. I'd trust it with money and cards, but truly not with my passport, just in case...
