I'll be in Italy for the majority of summer, but I get a week off so I am hoping to go to Greece or Croatia...I have heard the beaches in Croatia are amazing and it's cheap to go there. But I really want to see Ios (or any other Island) and Santorini in Greece...
If you've traveled to either place, just give me your opinion and what your experience was like...was it expensive? Which would cost more for transportation from Milan?

Whilst Greece and Croatia both offer their fair share of beaches, they also offer different things in terms of culture and historical sights so it will boil down to what appeals more to you. Do a little research on some of the places you've heard of/want to visit in each country to make the decision a little easier/more informed. Have a look through these Boards as there are plenty of Posts on Croatia and Greece to give you ideas.
As far as travel from Milan, flights will be your best bet and there are enough cheap flights (budget airlines) flying around Europe now to help you get there, it will just be a matter of working out who flies where once you've sorted where you want to spend the week.
