if you find some mates to go with you could all hire a car for the day and it would probably work out cheaper

We actually did Stonehenge without a tour....we took the train to Salisbury and then caught the bus out to Stonehenge. Conveniently, the bus arrived back in Salisbury 1 minute after the train left. That prompted us to explore Salisbury, which actually was very enjoyable (particularly the Salisbury Cathedral and Magna Carta) and relaxing. I have not been to Bath though...

I heard Evans Evans is a good tour company.
Mad Max Tours does an all-day tour that goes from London to Bath/Stonehenge. Google them. It may be rushed but it's a good way to get in all the sights you need to see for a day.
