How long should be put aside for Versailles? Will it need a whole day, half day?
And also how long for visiting Aushwitz?
Thanks a lot. xx

sameblackday, welcome to the Boards.
Not knowing your interests, the only advice I can offer with regard to how long you'll need in Versailles is to allow at least half a day. Again, this depends on the time of year you plan to visit - Summer is very busy, Winter less queues. If it's Summer, you may want to take a wander through the expansive gardens, and this can take up a few hours alone, without even visiting the inside of the Chateau.
Many people find they also need at least half a day at Auschwitz once they are there (ie not counting travel time). Assuming you are staying in Krakow, you will need about 1hr30 on the train to Oswiecim then a bus or taxi to Auschwitz-Birkenau. There are tour busses that leave from Krakow if you prefer to travel that route. Also, make sure you check the opening and closing times for the time of year you intend to visit.
Hope that helps you with your planning.

Versailles = just.no.
It's undergoing major renovations. The Halls of Mirrors have re-opened but there's still extensive restoration going on. I had a terrible time there - maybe it was just a bad day for me. But in terms of length of stay, it does take up most of the day - at least half a day (including getting there and back)
