Thanks!!

Under normal circumstances yes, but if spring kicks in early, the tulips may have sprung up early in the year, and they are in bloom earlier. If you would be here in early May, you would be on the safe side. If you like to visit the fields, it would be best to rent a car, so you can cruise, through the 'Westland', if you are interested to see a lot of the species, and to have information. Then you can also choose to go to the Keukenhof in Lisse (not that far from Amsterdam) www.keukenhof.nl/nm/english.html

I actually have a question related to this....would I be able to catch the tulips if I'm in Holland in early-mid April?

The best time is April - May, so yes mid april would be fine. There are a couple of species, and some are early (End of March), and some you can see a little later (end of May/early June). But a lot depends on the weather conditions during the winter.

Thank you for the advice Rene..
Hopefully I'll be able to make it but from the looks of my itinerary, I won't get there until the last week of May.. I'll have to keep my fingers crossed that the season will start a little later..
