I am currently studying in the Netherlands and my friend and I have 6 days (although more like 5 when you factor in traveling) that we were planning on using to go to Berlin and possibly somewhere else at the beginning of Dec. We were thinking of 4 days in Berlin, including a daytrip to Potsdam and then maybe going to Dresden for about 2 days or so. Does anyone have any other suggestions/recommendations of places we could go from Berlin? thanks so much!

There is a lot to see in Berlin, so you will need enough time to see the place. I think a trip to Potsdam, and 2 days in Dresden (good choice) will already be pretty rushed, if you want to make it fit in 6 days, including traveling.
If you feel you have seen enough of Dresden, you could opt to see one of the other cities in that region like Chemnitz or Erfurt, but I think that you need at least 3 whole days in Berlin, so I wouldn't add too many other things.
Where in the Netherlands are you studying?

Thanks for the advice herrbert! we have to work out timing and all that, and then we'll see what we can fit in I guess.
I'm studying in Groningen and I love it here. Where are you from?

Hi Sara,
I am living in a small place near to Venlo (in the South). Groningen is a very very nice place. I've been there for Eurosonic and Noorderslag. That's at the beginning of january ... you need to check that out, and check all the upcoming bands from Europe.

I agree with Herbet, that for Berlin you really do need at least three days. There are so many sights and museums and awesome things to see, that a month wasn't even long enough for me!
