I am planning my trip and I am getting together all the sights I plan to see while in Europe, so the 2 cities I know the least about are Munich and Venice.
What are some top sights in these cities? I have a book but it doesnt give me that much information. If anyone has any info lemme know. Thanks. Bret

bs1313, Munich and Venice - two great cities! I'm surprised that your Guidebook doesn't provide any suggestions. Which book are you using?
I suppose all of us have different ideas on what the "top sights" are, but I'll try to offer a few suggestions.....
Munich
- Marienplatz - Neuschwanstein & Hohenschwangau Castles (day trip - I used Radius Tours) - Dachau (if you're interested in WW-II history - I used Radius for this day trip also) - Museums - English Gardens - Walking tours
Venice
- Piazza San Marco - Doge's Palace (Il Palazzo Ducale) - Art Museum (can't remember the name) - Duomo (Cathedral)
I'm sure the others will have some suggestions as well.
Happy travels!

It does suggest things, but it all is kind of gibberish to me because I don't know what to look for...I use a few different guide books, but I really like Rick Steves. They all give lots of suggestions but I dont know what is good to see out of those suggestions unless I have heard of them. Thanks.

bs1313, I use the Rick Steves books extensively also. I find they fit well with my travel style.
I generally read through the descriptions of each of the sights in a particular city, and make a note of the ones that look most interesting. I often rate them on a "most interesting to least interesting" basis, and try to get to as many as possible. If I don't manage to visit all the sights on my list, I figure I can see them on a future trip.

Eagle - don't forget the Hofbrauhaus in Munich too.
