Flight to Australia???

Hi all, been a while since I posted here. I was wondering if anyone had tips on scoring a cheap flight to Australia (I'm in Los Angeles). They are all so expensive!!! Maybe if I stop over in south asia?? Any tips welcomed. Thanx!!!
