Hey has anyone taken the Schilthorn Cable Car to the top??? If so, how much, and is it worth the view?!?!?!? thanks.

I have taken it to the top from the Stechelberg station in Lauterbrunnen Valley. I don't remember the exact cost, but I think it was around US$15. The last time I was there, though, was in 2001.
The answer to whether it is worth it varies. When I did it, it was a sunny day in the valley. At the top, however, there was a snow storm and the view was nil. It was still very cool, though, and I thought it was worth it, but if you are saving pennies, this may be disappointing.
There is a revolving restaurant at the top for those looking to splurge. It was the sight of one of the James Bond movies, and you will find it playing in a little theater for free when you get to the top.
Cheers, Ray

hi! i went yesterday, and it was beautiful but im not sure if i would spend the money again...i left froom interlaken took all the trains and cable cars and the total was 110 francs. its 16 from murren to shilthorn onew way so 32 round trip to there. in my opinion, rent the bond film if you really care, the restaurant is super expensive, and the view is cool but its just mountain tops and you watch skiers ski down... i likedd the views from the trains better or from the other little towns with mountains and water and people and cows etc... pretty much just snow covered mountain tops and skiers is what youll see. hope that helps.
