i was thinkin about purchasing my week tube pass before i go to london in may....i was thinkin it might cut down on waiting in lines etc....has anyone bought theirs in advance before....and if so, are they just like the ones i would buy when i get there(like i don't want to buy it and have them give me trouble about when i try to use it...).....is it worth buying one in advance? or should i just buy the week pass when i get there.....

Visitor travelcard is not the same as a travelcard you can buy in London. It has some additional perks like discounts at sights and museums. Visitor travelcard is available for zones 1-2 or 1-6 only. Regular travelcards are available for anything between 1 and 6 zones. Details are available on TFL website. See "tickets and fares". www.transportforlondon.gov.uk/tfl/

Also, season travelcard (for 7 days or longer) require a photocard. One passport-size photo is needed.
