Hey, I've got another dumb question for you all. We'll be visiting a friend in Mallemoisson (France) on our trip. She says there isn't a stop in her town, but will pick us up in Nice, Marseille, Digne les Bains, or Toullons (sp?). Anyway, she said she doesn't care where, but we'll be coming from Switzerland (Gimmenwald) - I was thinking Nice would be the easiest. Since it's quite a drive for her though, she wanted to know when we'll be arriving. I would like to get ahold of a train schedule - is it available online anywhere? How reliable is it for over a month away? Can I tell her an exact time we'll be arriving? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks a ton! That website is awesome! I didn't realize it was going to be so difficult I was thinking maybe taking the train to Geneva, then hopping a Easyjet flight for $15USD from Geneva to Nice (1.5 hours). what do you think

It takes 4 hours and 5 vehicles to get from Gimmelwald to Geneve, and there's no way to make it shorter... You need another 4 hours to get from Geneve to Marseilles by TGV trains, with a change at Lyon. Then it takes another 2 hours to get to Chateaux-Arnnoux-St Auban, and from there you can get by bus to Mallemoisson. It would be about the same time to fly to Nice, so it won't save you time... but if the price is 15 USD, it would surely be cheaper! Before booking a flight, check that you can make it to the airport on time... remember, it takes 4 hours from Gimmelwald, so the flight must be after noon...
If you take the train to Marseilles, you would better get off earlier at Aix-en-Provence, if your friend will take you from there. This is the Aix-en-Provence TGV station, not the main station!
