Hey, I was wondering about the rail pass today. If i buy a 21 day travel rail pass, does that mean i have to travel 21 days in a row or does it mean i could travel 21 days at any time ? I dont want to buy the most expensive one if i wont have any use for it. Thanks, Ryan

The 21-days Eurail pass is a consecutive days pass, which means you can use the pass on all 21 days it is valid. Many people prefer the flexi passes, in which you can chose a number of days within the pass validity period for using the pass (like 15 travel days within 2 months). The price is determined by the # of travel days, so if you travel less, you pay less. There are 2 factors which you should pre-determine when you purchase a pass: 1. The countries which the pass entitle you free travel. 2. The validity period and/or the number of travel days. You choose Which routes and days to use the pass while you travel in Europe.
