OK, now when you buy a ticket valid for 75 minutes, is it only valid for that time with a bus? I heard it is only valid for 1 train / metro ride?

for those that care, I have just left rome and the ticket is valid for unlimited bus but only 1 metro ride. however no one seems to buy tickets anyways.

however no one seems to buy tickets anyways. How can you tell that? Most local residents buy a pass for a week, month or even a year, so they don't need to buy a ticket when they enter the bus/tram/metro, they appear to just go into the vehicle...

Locals, yes. But fellow budget-travellers..not really, well, the few that i met decided it wasnt worth it.
Perhaps i just came across the odd few though.
