Can anyone tell me how many times i would have to change trains on an overnight trip from cinque terre to gimmelwald? What would be the most direct route?
I am looking for route that has at least one long section where i'm not changing trains so I can mabey get some sleep and not have to get up every hour to switch trains. I was looking on bahn.de and so far i found a route that goes la spezia-florence-spiez-interlaken. The section from florence to spiez is about 8 hours. Does anyone know a route that would be better?

The most direct route should be via Genoa and Milano, but I don't think you can do that by night. IMO it would be a pity to sleep through such nice scenery... Spiez is where you change from trains bound to Bern for Interlaken. From Interlaken you take another train, bus and cable-car to get to Gimmelwald.
