Take a train to S'Hertogenbosch or Tilburg and then by bus.

Leaving from Amsterdam, your best route is to take the train to 's Hertogenbosch. It takes about an hour and you don't have to change trains. Just be sure to take an intercity. They leave about every 15 minutes. In 's Hertogenbosch you take a bus to the Efteling (don't know wich bus, but it should be clearly marked) The bus will take about 20-30 minutes, I think. I love the Efteling, been there a couple of times. Don't forget to visit the 'sprookjesbos' (wood of the fairytales)! Have fun! Cat

You got that right! Tell me something I haven't heard yet about the Efteling... Oooh, don't miss the rollercoaster wich rides in the dark (called 'Vogel rock') and 'droomvlucht' (takes you to the elves) It's soooo pretty..... Hmmm, might have to plan another visit there. Cat

Maybe you've heard that the governement of the Netherlands is located in the Hague. So, you won't have visited the Hague if you haven't seen the 'binnenhof'. In this building the Prime minister holds office. His actual office is in a tiny tower and the Dutch even refer to it that way. You can come really close and walk around the courtyard (dunno if that's the right word for it) Al lot of Dutch history regarding the founding of the democracy as it is today has taken place in The Hague. I'm not much of a history-freak, so I'm afraid you can't give you exact dates of sights to see. However, the tourist office (called 'VVV' in Dutch) should be able to help. That is, if you are into that kind-a-thing. I do know the have a (free!) walk wich takes about an hour an leads you past some sights. I did it a few yours ago and liked it. Can't really give you any tips about museums. never visited one there If you have the time, do visit the town of Scheveningen. it's about a 20 minute tram ride away. It is very touristy, but you can walk around the seashore and visit the peer, visit Madurodam (The Netherlands rebuilt on a tiny scale) of the 'panorama Mesdag'. This guy, called Mesdag, painted the coastline of Scheveningen in 1890. He didn't stick to a plain square canvas, but painted it in a 360 degree circle. You can visit it and it's really like you are INSIDE the painting. Hope this has helped, enjoy your trip! Cat
