I'm traveling from mid-May to mid-June and this is the proposed itinerary.
London - 4 days Paris - 5 days Nice - 3 days Rome - 5 days Florence - 2 days Venice - 2 days Vienna - 2 days Berlin - 2 days Amsterdam - 2 days
What type of rail pass should we buy? Should we consider taking buses while in the cities? Also is there any way to travel from Amsterdam to London? If not what's the quickest way to get back to London from Amsterdam?
Thanks so much!

It's too early to determine. I have no clue what prices will be in 10 months time.

Also is there any way to travel from Amsterdam to London? If not what's the quickest way to get back to London from Amsterdam? Possibly the cheapest way is by bus - www.nationalexpress.com or www.eurolines.com. I'm not sure how long the trip is - but probably 16-18 hours. You can also find a low-cost airline that will cost you in the range of $50 or so. The flight would probably be around 2 hours or less plus airport time and travel to and from the airport. There's also a ferry that would probably be 16-20 hours - but I don't think the exact stop and start points are Amsterdam and London. (All times and costs are estimates only!) You could also go by train - not sure of the best route advice there.

Flight time is just over an hour, however travel time from city to city will be 4-5 hours, but it's still the fastest option. 2nd fastest is train - about 6 hours, with connection in Brussels. Next in line is train-ferry-train combination - about 8 hours. Bus is the slowest - about 11 hours.
