I'm planning on taking the Eurostar from Paris to London. Does anyone know if going by First Class is worth an extra $30. Has anyone gone by First Class before? I know that they include a three course meal, one or two drinks and the seats recline more. Thanks for any comments.

I did the eurostar last year from Paris to/from London. FABULOUS ride! Very impressive! We did coach class (I believe its 2nd class?) The seats are extremely roomy, the arm rests flip up, etc. In my opinion I can't imagine why you wouldn't ride coach as its only a 3 hour ride.... definitely don't think 1st class can't be worth the extra $$.... and if you want food...there's a club car that you can buy food & refreshments on during the ride for decent prices.

Depends on your budget....and I suppose how 'memorable' a ride you want it to be. I agree with Melody, 2nd class is probably quite a bit more comfortable than most any other train you will ever ride on, but it will likely be 100% full too. Since this train is not included on railpasses, when I purchased my ticket I rode 2nd class even though my passes were 1st class for everything else. However, I can assure you that on any other Eurostar train in Europe....the 'fast' intercity trains for the most part.....1st class is indeed significantly roomier, more comfortable and a much more relaxing and fun ride. And a big consideration for me is the 'luggage' room afforded....if you happen to join the train at any 'en route' stop as opposed to at the starting city you may well find it difficult to find a place to put your luggage. I saw this happen over and over again. That never happened in 1st class. But, that shouldn't present a problem on the train you are talking about. Just general info. I did not take 1st on this train, but, having ridden so much in other 1st class cars if I did it again I would spend the money if I had it in my budget and really ride in style.
