hey guys,
I'm going to be travelling around europe with my girlfriend for about a month from mid august. Just starting to plan my trip now and things are already starting to get complicated!
I'm going to get an interrail global pass but I was wondering if anyone here could answer a few questions.
The interrail website says that there are certain trains that you may have to pay an additional supplement for (http://www.interrail.com/supplement.asp?AFF=IR). The only problem is that it's not very clear so I'm not sure what specific routes this will apply to and how much they charge you. Is there anyway to find this out? Since money will be tight I don't want to get on a train thinking it's free, only to find out the conductor's going to charge me an extra €15 or whatever. I don't really mind paying a little extra if it means that the journey will be much shorter, but i'd just like to anticipate what the costs will be.
I'm also wondering what the best way to get about the cities will be. The plans are no where near finalised, but the main cities we're wanting to concentrate on are Paris, Barecelon, Rome, Vienna and Prague. I was thinking that a subway/metro ticket which entitles you to so many rides may be a good option. Does the interrail pass get you any discounts on this?
Anyway, thanks for any help you've got to offer. Any tips or advice would be much appreciate
Cheers, yirmon
