Anyone got some advice if it is worth bringing any kind of mosquito repellent? I do not want to take something in my backpack that I will never use.
Are mosquitoes a problem in Europe in summer? More specifically;
Italy, Belgium and Holland/Amsterdam?

It isn't a big problem at all, especially if you stay in the cities. You're bound to get bit at some point in your trip, but I don't think it's worth lugging the extra weight around, unless mosquitoes really annoy you.

I have to disagree with the Rookie. Many places in Europe have armies of starved blood-sucking mosquitoes, so bring a small bottle of pump spray. It doesn't weigh that much and if you need it one time, you will be very glad that you have it.
Once I was in the HI in Venice and i felt some mosquitos when i went to bed so I covered myself with the spray (so much that I was coughing). When I woke up, I counted 12 bites, whereas the other people in the room counted from 40 -120 bites.
