Can anyone suggest a lightweight and easily packable sleeping bag?
One is required for part of my son's stay in France at a university dorm, to be used on one of the dorm beds. However, that part of the trip comes about a month into his travels. Should he take it with him for the entirety of his backpacking trip or should we consider having one shipped to the university?

if there are blankets at the uni, he could just take a sleep-sheet (like are used in hostels), no?
or, he might could just buy a sleeping bag in France. it might be almost as cheap as shipping one over there. that way, mis-directed mail wouldn't be an issue.

Thanks - those are things we're considering!
I think what he may do is take a kind of hybrid sleeping-bag - one that has an insulated side and the other side is a lightweight sheet. He can flip it over depending on the temperature, and then combine it with his hostel sleep sack if he needs more cover. The bag only weighs 2 lbs. and it looks like he'll have room for it in his backpack. Does anyone have any experience with this type of sleeping bag?
Thanks for the help!
