So i have heard that the train from london to paris is quite pricey, can you get a better deal if you book it while still in the US?
do you suggest booking it before leaving or just when you get there, and where is a good place online to find a deal for it.
also, I understand there are a few train stations in/ around london, whichone has the train to paris?

The chunnel train leaves from Waterloo Station. And yes, it is pricey. With a railpass I've booked it several times in advance...normally in the $75 range, one way. You can fly it much cheaper...but remember to add in costs to/from out of the way airports. At the end of the day, it is highly convienant, but still just a 'train ride' with a period of darkness. Do you want city center to city center at a higher price, or an involved airport transfer situation at an initial lower price. Your budget dictates.
MuuverRussia is your best on the spot info for this!

Does anyone know anything about catching a ferry instead from Dover to Calais? I guess you would have to include the train prices from London to Dover and from Calais to Paris. Has anyone done this and does it work out cheaper? I guess it would add a bit of travelling time. Thanks

Catching the ferry is quite painless from Dover to Calais. You can get some quite cheap deals. It's only a 26 mile journey and you will get to see the 'famous white cliffs'. But you would have the extra cost of getting to Dover and then onto Paris. I would agree with ging and look at a budget airline flight much easier and would probably be a lot cheaper.
