Hello,
My sister and I are planning to go to Schloss Neuschwanstein, we're planning to ride the train to Fussen from Munich, then ride another bus to reach the place, but this seems very expensive, i read from 1 person's blog that a "bayern ticket" would be less expensive..but i have no clue what it is..searched the internet but most sites were in german language..
hope you could help me..thanks!

Ahhhh, it's so pretty! And while you're in that neck of the woods, you should take the day to visit the other castles (Lindau, Hohenschwangau and Herrenchiemsee) if you can fit them all in. Gorgeous! The link dumbdiety has provided will help with directions and info. The whole area around Fuessen is known as the Romantic Road (it actually goes further north, but for the purpose of this query, that will do!). The Bayern Ticket or Bavaria Ticket www.bahn.de/regional/view/bayern/bahnregional/freizeit/bayernticket.shtml is for train and bus travel in the state of Bavaria (capital is Munich), on most routes. Each region/state in Germany has a version thereof. The group ticket (more than one person) is Euro 25 from ticket machines in the stations, or Euro27 from the travel centre ticket office in the station (single is Euro18 from machine or Euro20 from ticket office). They are a good idea if you plan to travel a bit in the region, so do some costings and see if it's a better idea for you. There's also a Munich Welcome Card put out by the Munich Tourist Office www.muenchen.de/Rathaus/tourist_office/88148/muenchen_welcomecard.html but it's only for the city area of Munich, not the whole state. There are tours that leave from Munich, if that works better for you, that go through that whole area and cover what you want to see. They are from the Tourist Information in Marienplatz under the Town Hall (Rathaus) www.muenchen.de/Rathaus/tourist_office/stadtfuehrungen/88140/uebersicht_stadtfuehrungen.htmlHope this helps! ;D
