That's crazy. That said, a lot of London mainline stations only have one (big) set of toilets too. It's easier for security, as well as ensuring that they're clean etc.
The accessible, clean, free and with toilet paper tradeoff is definitely true though.

Heck...just try to go intp Zoo station then.....plenty of toilets there...maybe not as clean, but plentiful

Are the Zoo toilets free? This is knowledge I need to obtain for my upcoming Berlin trip. In Norway, the train station has pay toilets (and expensive too, of course), and because Norway uses its own currency, you often don't have exactly the right change when you first arrive. I can't remember how I resolved that - maybe I just waited!

Most German stations toilets are free...sort of. There will be that lady standing there with her 'tip' plate when you try to exit. Although this last trip I will allow I found many more than I remembered with the coin slot in the door. Thankfully, again, the lady was right there to make change for you if needed.

always, always used to just freak my husband out! Having a strange woman mopping the floor under the urinals...while he was using it....just used to toally distress him shall we say.
