Hi everyone!
I need your help. I leave for Europe in one week from today and have yet to buy a train pass. I've read and re-read all the posts on here about them but am still having difficulty commiting to a pass. Any light you all may be able to shed on the following concerns would be greatly appreciated.
1) What is the difference between railsaver.com and eurail.com's passes? 2) I am 100% visiting France and Italy and I know that would put me in a great spot for the "2 Country" pass. However, I want to elave my options open and not be committed to those two countries. I don't have a lot of time over there, but nonetheless would like to have the option of stopping over in Switzerland on my way to Italy if I decide to do so at the time. But if I go with the 2 country pass, that sort of limits me. Any thoughts on this?
Thank you all, you are the best!!
Happy traveling!!

The passes are all regulated so they should be the same price everywhere. However, if you order from RailEurope.com (see the suitcase icon above), GFE gets a small percentage at no cost to you. Basically, same price everywhere only RailEurope gives a small referral fee which goes towards keeping GFE up and running.
As far as the Switzerland thing, don't forget you can always just buy point to point tickets at the station, which, if it's only going to be a brief stop, would probably work out cheaper anyway. Just make sure your pass will be still good time wise if you add time in Switzerland. You don't want to start it in France then have it run out and not get to use it in Italy.

Great tips! Thank you. If I did the point to point for Switzerland though then I wouldn't even need the rail pass I don't think. Because if I'm going from France to switzerland (point to point) then from Swizterland to Venice (point to point) the only place I'd use the pass is from Venice to Florence and Florence to Rome. Hmmm....

It's definately worth while looking up what your point to points will cost you then deciding. Here's a link where you can put in the places and find out. Take into consideration though that the point to point at the station will be a bit cheaper - most online places charge more to do the bookings for you. www.qksrv.net/click-711188-10358541
