Wow, my third post in this category this week alone! You guys are great for all the help you're giving me. I just wanted to know if anyone could direct me to some information on weight restricitons on flights within Europe. It seems I've read before than you can only have so much with you, and I was just wondering if this ever poses a problem for people. If you just have a travel pack, is it generally under the weight limit, or do you have to bring a day bag? Feels like a dumb question but I just want to see what the opions are. A specific example would be an easyjet or ryanair flight. Thanks!

Ryanair has some stricter rules than Easyjet, they allow for 15kg to be checked-it, and 10 kilo you can take with you in the cabin. Details: www.ryanair.com/site/EN/faqs.php?sect=bagFor Easyjet it's 20 kg, and one piece of luguage to take with you in the cabin, as long as it is no larger/higher than 55 x 40 x 20 cm. But ... they say that this can be different, at some airports. www.easyjet.com/EN/Book/regulations.html#baggageAlso check the new rules for flights within the EU.

As per Herrbert's post, Ryanair are the strictest in terms of weight restrictions for checked and carry-on luggage (so strict they'll charge your for even 3kgs over!), so be aware. All the remaining airlines are pretty much the same as EasyJet in terms of allowances, however BA are pretty good with checked luggage up to 25kgs, after that they start to think about charging Excess Baggage. Flight rules for the EU that Herrbert mentioned: pretravel.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=Transportation&action=display&n=1&thread=4818

Those are good general rules. although the airline will always tell you what the baggage restrictions are when you are buying the ticket.
