You need to make a reservation. It works a lot like the cheap flights, if you book early enough, you can get the tickets for 45 euros, if you wait too long, these tickets, will be gone, and you have to with more expensive one. If you leave it until you get there, you can expect to be paying way more.
Be careful to get tickets for a good time. If you would end up with tickets, at let's say 9.00 am, then leave early enough, to get through the traffic (I don't know if that is the right word to use for the tube), and allow yourself time to check-in.

do you reserve on the raileurope.com website? i thought it said that they mailed the tickets to you so you have to pay for the shipping fees?

I don't know, I would reserve directly at Eurostar: www.eurostar.com How they deal exactly with the reservation I don't know, for me it would take too much time to take the train to London, from where I live. I am better off by taking the plane on a nearby airport. Edit: I presume (by reading the website very fast), that you will get a confirmation email, just like you get, when booking a flight.

Edit: I presume (by reading the website very fast), that you will get a confirmation email, just like you get, when booking a flight. To follow up on Herrbert, yes you get a reference number and go to the ticketting counter (opposite the check-in turnstiles for the Eurostar, underneath Waterloo - well until later this year) with that reference and ID and they'll issue the ticket. Plus there are machines on which you can print out your pass now too, but still allow time for this as well as getting to the station as you can't just arrive with 5mins to spare. And do buy them well ahead of time (4 weeks + is best), unless you want to pay top price.

Excellent! And a good price too! Enjoy the ride and try to get a forward-facing seat so you get the full impact of the speed! ;D
