Hi!
well, as some of you know I hope to work in Germany in Oct. 2005. This is organized by the German-Canadian association, so if I'm selected, I'm guaranteed a job and a working visa.
What I'd like to know is if I have a German working visa, do I get by as a German. I will explain : Places where canadians need visas, will I still need one, or will I be temporarily considered as a german citizen (i know I won't be one but I don't know how to explain...i'm sure some of you will understand my gribbling..)
If not, how will I be able to optain these visas once overseas? Will it be possible or will it be too late?
Thanks Jen

Getting a work visa in one country will give you permission to live and work in that country. For every other country, you will still be a Canadian, so you will need any visas that are applicable.
Getting visas for countries that require them is the same. You will likely need to go to the country's embassy and fill out the paperwork, or send your passport to the embassy for them to place the visa inside. Sometimes this can take a little while (up to a couple weeks), so be sure to account for this in your planning.

That's what I thought. I was just wondering if it was possible to get a visa overseas, glad to know I can! Thanks Ray!

it would worry me, if i were living in another country, to mail off my passport! that's the document i'd need to identify myself - in every way! <the residence visa, Aufenthaltserlaubnis, is stamped into it> - d <snip>Getting visas for countries that require them is the same.
