Some days ago I told madametreshheap that I would have found some information about boats in Venice...so here I am! For a turist, having a ride by boat can be very expensive: a 1h ticket, that allows you a on way ride (no return), costs 6€. but there are cheaper ways to catch a water-bus...you can buy the 12/24/48/72 h tickets, which are much cheaper, or, even better, the week ticket, which costs about 25€ and allows you to ride as much as you like! the VeniceCard is for the Veneto Region residents only; I think that "outsiders" can get it too, but would be rather expensive. anyway, my suggestion is..yes, having a ride in the water-bus in the Canal Grande is nice.. but just to experience it. walking and losing yourselves through the "calli" (the little narrow streets of Venice) is so much better!
