I am currently 25 and I will be turning 26 3 months before I leave for a 2 month trip to Europe. I know that the passes expires after 6 months of purchasing them. My question for anyone is, can I purchase the Youth pass when Im 25 and then use it even though I have already turned 26?
Also my GF is 20 and can get a youth pass. Is there any way if I do have to buy a regular pass, can I ride with her in the same cart?
Thanks in advance

don't know if you can get the youthpass. i've never looked into that. but, as a 1st class passholder, i don't see why you couldn't sit in 2nd class. on a trip many years ago, i had a 1st class east europe railpass. when i absentmindedly sat in 2nd class, they never asked me to move to 1st. being used to always riding in 2nd, i'd go there on autopilot. [this wasn't too long after i'd been brain injured. i'd loose track of details even more than i do now] my final train ride using that pass was on a night train from Vienna to Berlin. as usual, i went to the 2nd class section. when the train guy saw i had a 1st class pass, he closed the compartment so i had it to myself. - d Also my GF is 20 and can get a youth pass. Is there any way if I do have to buy a regular pass, can I ride with her in the same cart? Thanks in advance

I just got an email back for the Euro rail website.. FWIW if others are interested they told be that you can turn 26 while using the youth pass as long as you enter europe or have the pass Validated in Europe while you are still 25.
