Hi all,
Wonder if anyone can help me with my confusion.
I'm on the SWAP programme in Britain and have been living in Edinburgh since last September. I'm looking to do a good backpacking trip starting this September. Initially I thought to buy a Eurail pass, but I noticed that it says they exclude UK residents, and it seems their definition of UK residents includes people have living here more than 6 months. Does that mean I will be OK buying the Interrail pass???
Also, I wanted to buy the Britrail pass to get down to London and visit a few other cities on my way out of the UK. I do know that they're available only outside the UK, so I was going to have it sent home to Canada and have my mom forward it on to me. In my experience, train guards in the UK don't check your passport, but I've never traveled with a BritRail pass. Has anybody else done this, do you think I'll be OK with one? Don't want to get stuck paying full fair, train tickets around the UK can be just ridiculous!
