I have a question concerning train reservations......I only have one resevervation that is required (because it is a night train), but will i need reservations for those trips between cities that do not require a reservation? Here are the connections i'm worried about
Brussels - Amsterdam Amsterdam - Cologne Cologne - Munich Munich - Interlaken Interlaken - Bern
Finally, my last question is......I need to make a reservation for my overnight train from Bern to Barcelona. Should I make this reservation when I get to Europe? I won't be using the night train until 11 days into my trip. Where do I make this reservation? Any help would be really appreciated. I leave in 2 weeks and this is the only part of my trip that seems to be really confusing me.
Thanks everyone.

For the first 5 rides you mentioned, you can do without reservation. (although a reservation on the Thalys (Brussels - Amsterdam, is necesary, there are also other trains, that don't need a reservation). You can make the reservation, when you arrive in Bern. Especially if you enter the city by rail (coming from Interlaken), I would recommend making the reservation, when you are already at the station. But are you sure, you want to do this trip as a trainride. I can't see how much they cost (as www.bahn.de, doesn't give me a price), but I can imagine that a flight from either Geneva or Zurich to Barcelona, with Clickair, Easyjet, Condor or Air Berlin, can work out much cheaper. (check www.flightassistent.com or www.whichbudget.com to look for flights from Geneva or Zurich) to Barcelona
