So apparently there's a big fare sale (50% off) at ryanair - buy by Monday and travel between Nov 07 & March 08. Unfortunately not my flying time, but there seem to be some ridiculous deals! www.ryanair.com

Ridiculous is definitely the word. Just picked up a return from London Stansted to Riga (Latvia) for £20 (US$40) including tax at the start of December. Thanks for the heads up!

But do't forget that Ryanair isn't the only airline, with these kind of prices, and when these tickets are gone, prices start to climb. Another point with Ryanair is that you always want to double check the location of the airport. (and the ways transportation to/from the airport, if you have an easrly of a late flight)
Also check their weight limitations.

Chris sure seems to get around a lot more than most of the people i've known at such a young age. - d Ridiculous is definitely the word. Just picked up a return from London Stansted to Riga (Latvia) for £20 (US$40) including tax at the start of December. Thanks for the heads up!

David - to put into context, £20 wouldn't even cover a few drinks in a bar here. For that kind of money it's cheaper to go away for the weekend rather than stay at home . Herrbert - that's true. Luckily I've flown from Stansted before and have also flown to Riga before too (with BA from LHR - cost over £200 in 2004), so I kind of know what to expect airport wise. That said, Ryanair aren't so bad, my flights were 1p each way, which came to £20 inc tax. Not taking any hold luggage as I'm only going for a couple of days too. I do completely agree that the likes of Ryanair and Easyjet are often not the cheapest options though. I've managed to get flights with BA a number of times (includes free booze, food etc) that were cheaper than the Easyjet equivalent.

David - that's definitely true. I read on trip advisor that the locals don't exactly like the British for that reason. Think I'll just try and keep my head down.

Think I'll just try and keep my head down. you shouldn't have that many problems. how could the British be much of a target when "the Great Satan" is out there? i don't know of a traitorous former UK vice spreading lies about Britain's unique guilt in destroying the world climate. it's even worse when a group of Norwegians decides to award a major peace prize to the vice in question for his hypocritical mendacity. as long as the American whipping boy is around, i don't think British have much to fear.
