I was looking at the rail passes and I don't understand which one I need, here is the lowdown on my trip: I am under 26, I will be traveling just spain, and a day trip to France for about a month, I am basically planning all of my cities, so I know exactly where I want to go. I will need a high speed train once or twice. Should I buy a rail pass or pay sepratly, what would be the cheapest? Lemme know.
Thanks,
Bret

Hi Brett, If you really want to know, then try www.railsaver.com Here you can enter you initerary and it will give you advise on what to do. Travelling by train in Spain is pretty cheap (except for the AVE) so my guess is that you don't need a pass at all. you might want to consider a couple of flights, as these are dirt cheap in Spain.

I looked up flights and they were pretty expensive...maybe I looked them up on an expensive airline...what are the cheapest airlines to fly, and I should definetly make reservations for these right? is it worth the time, (airport security and what not, or is it not really a day event like it is here)

I just looked up the AVE and it was like 30 bucks...I wouldn't say that is too bad...

For with route do you need an airline?
30 dollar/euro? is not bad for the AVE. When I was travelling in Spain earlier this year, it was 65 euro one way, so maybe they are cheaper now. If you can get ticket for the AVE that cheap, then do it. It would be quicker, and you will be in the cities already instead of an airport outside of the town.
