i got back a couple days from 3 weeks in europe. my favorite part would also have to be the cinque terre and i wonder if bostonc is the guy i met while hiking there and asked him about his boston t-shirt? i also loved como in the north of italy about 3 miles from switzerland. if you are making the trip from italy to switzerland, i suggest a night here. there is a youth hostel in town, a swiss train station right acros the border ( i walked from italy) and an italian train and bus stop right in the italian side. it was beautiful with italy prices but swiss mountain/lake atmosphere and a great bar and gelati stand. if you are in rome i suggest gullivers house...simon was a great host! if you are in london, i would suggest not staying at hyde park inn but rather hyde park hostel down the street...much better all around and only a pound more.
