hi, I came back last sunday!
Landed in Frankfurt on friday morning at 6 am
Stay at my sister's place and got to spend 3 nights with her whole family. They are building a new house, very cool and i helped a little bit.
I got my shopping list done in 15 minutes ^^ in frankfurt= bought 3 pairs of Birkenstock shoes ( I am nuts for those shoes and not as expensive and ugly like the one we find here). They are really pretty and comfy.
Jet lag the first day... tried to stay awake, when to bed really early. I took many pictures of my nieces, they basically becomes my experiements for photos...the outcome of the photos are really nice.
TRAIN ---> Paris
Took Thalys, some guys stared at me especially when I get up to go to the toilette. They were amaze at my going so many times that one of the them say : encore? I answered: Eh oui, malheuresement~ You should see their faces.... lol
Stay at BVJ Paris- Louvre Hostel
Consider the location and the price, cant complain too much. It is not 5 stars place but I like it~ I dont know why people complain about the lady in the breakfast are rude...Of course the famous push bottom shower... that was little bit anoying, but not end of the world. My first night was in a room of 4 and I got to be friend with 2 of them (sister from Dallas, USA) and they are very nice girls! I got to pratice my spanish again! I walked a lot up to a point, I started to have blisters. The second night I was put up in a room of 2 and I was little bit worried about what kind of rommante I will get. To my surprise, she is from taiwan and just 1 year older than me! We got to talk until 1-2 am morning! We click really fast!! She was leaving the next at 12 pm to UK. We went to Jardin Luxxembourg. it is really nice place~
The hostel sort of mess up my reservation.. so the third I had to move to another one (12e arrondissement). In the afternoon, I met up the Dalls girl infront of the Hotel de Ville. There was another girl there and they start talking while waiting for me. Sigh.... in my humble opinion, she is drama queen with an inferior complex.
Took a lot of pictures, the arc de Triomphe was in repair -.- ... it destroy my pictures. The weather was really nice, took a lot of pic of tour d"eiffel (outside). Havent got into any museum or up to the Eiffel. (Line too long)
Fly to ROME:
Rome stay 4 nights at Alessandro Downtown Hostel. Girl Dorm for 10. Everyone was relly nice to me and they inivite me to go out with them. Most of them are from UK. It was really "homie". I become friend with 2 gril from UK, we went out together, we went to see la traviata at a church (my first opera). Visited some part of the rome together, saw the pope on sunday blessings. Did the tour given by the hostel 12 euros that my rommantes recommend it and I am glad I did it. It was about the forums and really good! (I bought the bought that has transparencies). I was solo for the sistine chapel, trevi fountain, Spanish steps, Piazza Navonna and so on.. waited for 2 hours in line for sistine -.- but it was worth. While waiting for the line, I wrote postcards and my journal. I stayed in the chapel until the end so as you can imagine everyone was cram into a can. lol I ate gelato like crazy, spend money on italian food. The guide girl showed us a ristorante near the coloseum that has good food and cheap. I went back twice, but be aware the second time, the service sucks because they forgot us (too many people). Went to all the tourist spots. YUp, italian guys are very "sticky"...gueess I am asian, they did not come to bother me as much as caucasaian girls. The biggest disapointment was the spanish steps (doing construction stuff on the back of the near building). I sat there for 1 hours to write my journal and I enjoyed seing lot of people getting scam for friendship bracelets. (sadistic) Did some shopping gift to give to friend back home. New Rommante came in on my 3rd night, one of them was from Bs As, Argentina. that is pretty rare to see a girl from there. (i used to live there before) So i was really excite to meet her. She is really pretty too~ I got to pratice my spanish again.. lol I also met 2 very unpleasant and rude girls (come back 2 am from party, turn on the light and woke me up to tell me to face to the wall because i was snoring... -.- ---> revenge ) I also met 2 canadians really really nice!! YAY!!! They were fun and could torelate my photofingers!
Overnight train to Vienna:
On my compartment, there were a chinese girl and an italian old man. Really nice people~ The italian man was pleasant and very talkative ^^ Our train got delayed 3 hours and I could heard him swear in italian (very interesting) about the stupid, porqueria train. The chinese girl helped me a lot when I arrived to Vienna. She told me how to go where I wanted to go and even offered to call my friend to let him know I will be late.
Finally arrived to vienna, stay at my friends house. Ate out a lot, stay up until 3-4 am. There was a free special open air concert at the imperial palace. We did not stay long.... it was too cold! So cold we went to eat chinese hot meals with his friend. I laughed hard, had a great time. The last day I got finally to visit Vienna downtown. ^^ Did some shopping and hop on a overnight train to Amsterdam via Frankfurt.
Overnight Vienna-Frankfurt-Amsterdam
My travel seat mate was a canadian and we had a really nice conversation about anything. He said to call him when I hit Ottawa and to invite to eat.
Arrived Amsterdam 11 am. Went to my sisters place, started to unload my dirty clothes. Did some walking and off to denmark next day via driving. We arrive there late and my younger newphew was not feeling well... rush to the hospital, he stay at the ICU for 2 nights and another 2 night at regular room before shipped back to Holland for normal procedure of quarantine. He has Diabities Type 1 and he is 3.5 years old. Went throught a lot of painful needle searching place to put IV and some other stuff... (He just change his face to blank stare when nurses comes in) We are all really upset and stressfull about the situation. His grandparents coincidently was in holland for vacation. The whole house was in gray mood.... I still did went out a little. Did some shopping for my mum.
My flight back home on friday at frankfurt airport. There was a train strike in amsterdam that day... ha ha..
Luckly, I went to the train station 2 days early to book the reservation, otherwise I will be in deep trouble. I changed my flight back to Canada on sunday. I arrived safely in one functional piece with lot of chocolates ^^
Monday back to reality, to work.... It was a long day~
