I thought I would follow the trend and introduce myself. I am a 25 year old female, living in New York City. I just finished my first solo trip to europe.

Although I wish I had done this when I was fresh out of college with more time (and energy?), it was nice to have some money put aside to go shopping!

After reading some of these journals, I wish I had kept the emails I had sent my boyfriend. They caught every mood I had; from inspired, to downright homesick and ready to cry...

It's great to have another Europe traveller to help out on the boards-hope you will stick around and help us answer questions.

Do you think you might be able to write us a "Just Back Report" in the Just Back Report section? Maybe on the places you went, hostels you stayed in and what you thought, how much you spent, favorite places etc.?

Welcome from me too! Especially nice to have another 'female solo' traveller here. Someone else to , hopefully, echo my sentiments that it is perfectly safe to travel alone there. Do post a report for us! Would love to compare notes with you.

and yes, Kim's site is a much happier, friendlier place than that other one! You'll hardly ever ever get slammed hereabouts.
