Hi!
I'm a new member, but I have already posted a few times. I like the idea of people introducing themselves so here I go.
I'm an 18 yaer old girl from Montreal and very proud to be canadian. My first language is french so forgive my mistakes every now and again. I've already travel a bit with my parents and with school trips to Europe and Asia, but I'm planing my first backpacking trip for next summer. I only have 2 months because I start university in september, but I'm really excited.
Thank you so much for the answers you've already given me. I will probably be asking many questions and I'm really glad I can do it on this message board.
By the way, you guys are all really helpful, I've just finished reading every post and I must say dustoffmom that I loved hearing about your trip!
Well I'll talk to you soon!
Marie

Welcome, Marie! Glad you decided to "introduce" yourself, I love it when people do that.
Dustoffmom's travel experiences are one of the highlights on this board. Maybe when you go you will consider doing the same thing for us? (You just email it to me while on the road and I will post it)
(I'm hoping Patrick will do the same for us as well next year-even though I haven't mentioned it to him yet!!)
As you may know, I am also a proud Canadian (Victoria) and it's always nice to have another on board. (Right, "me"? ;D ;D ;D)

Welcome Marie, can never have too many proud Canadians on the boards! (I'm in Toronto) ;D (Your english is actually really good. You should hear my french... It's so bad I just gave up) Kim, I hadn't really mentioned it since it's so far off but I'd love to do road updates. I'm a) an Internet junkie and b) a cheapskate (so I won't be using the phone to call home). I can just send email updates to everyone I know and I'll just throw your address into the mix and you can post it in the trip section. (I'm assuming that's what you did with dustoffmom's) We'll see how I do with the foreign keyboards

Hi Marie! I too will be travelling around Europe next summer. I will be going on my own and would love to travel with someone for part of my trip. I live in Vermont (we are practically neighbors!). Let me know if you may be interesting in a companion and maybe we can plan something for next summer.

Hi and thanks for the kind words about my travel journal. And indeed....all I did was put Kim's address in my 'list' of send to folks....she weeded out any purely personal stuff for me and posted it. Easy! And there were a few 'down' posts anow and then that I began with 'Kim, not for posting' and she never did. You can trust her! ;D Plus, an added benefit, you can pick her brain, and the boards as well, while on the road if you have questions. Anyone getting ready to travel...whenever...do post to the list! Everyone loves to read about travels, and it's a way to sort of be part of the journey. Oh, and one other added fun thing....I got more mail along the way, from 'strangers' who were reading my posts and just wrote to say hi. Getting mail in im-buck-two is a real treat, especially on a less than stellar day. ging
