Guess I will be the first to introduce myself! I'm Kim and these are my boards and webpage. I'm 27 and live in beautiful Western Canada. My travels have included: Backpacking 7 months through 17 countries in Europe 3 months backpacking across Australia A camping road trip from Vancouver to Mexico Working at a hostel on Maui, Hawaii for 3 months or so. There have been other smaller trips, but those are my favorites! When my long days at the government are over, (feel free to substitute "boring" for "long"), I like to work on my webpage or go walking with friends down at the ocean. Oh yeah, I also have a collection of Sesame St. things-mainly Cookie Monster. Scared yet? So tell me...where are you from and what are you about? Kim

since you just started this tread, Kim, it seems logical that you would be the first to introduce yourself; no? probably should start by explaining why i put "me" for my name, as well as a fake address in that field: there is some *very* sophisticated address harvesting software out there. i get enough spam as it is. Kim sez that this is a "no-spam" site. but, if the addie is out there on the web, it's vulnerable. posting on here shows that i'm interested in travel. but, i still wouldn't want an inbox full of travel spam! ok, about me: i am a north Texan who did the "junior year abroad" thing as a college student. studied one semester each in Freiburg & in Münster, F.R. Germany, back when there still was an "east," the GDR. (obviously, i'm in my mid 30's. no doubt an old guy here) while there, i took classes in history & politcs, as well as one in anti-trust law, in Münster. my european travel includes several trips to north & central Europe, as well as a recent trip to southwest Europe. my "to see" list for Europe includes much of France, all of Poland, Hungary & Italy. nor have i seen the Baltics, the Balkans or the former Soviet Union. Turkey also intrigues me. it's not Europe, but it's close. in spite of lacking immidiate plans to cross the "pond," to continue my exploration, i'm always looking for info on new sights to see, places to go, etc. that others might share insights with me, i share mine with others. this site seems to be a good place to do just that: share. although i'll do my best to be acurate in what i share, the insights that i have are colored by what i've seen. it's all anecdotal stuff, nothing empirical. please take away what i share here as just that: my opinions. i look forward to this. it should be fun!

Hi!
I'm 40 years old, been married 20 years to a wonderful man, have three teenage children (14, 17, 19), a nurse and a Creative Memories Consultant.
My travel has been exclusively within the United States (unless you count my high school choir trip to Victoria, BC...I don't!). I've been in 42 states and lived in 4.
I joined this board because my family and I are planning a month long trip to Europe and I have found a wealth of information here! Although this is our first trip to Europe, we are already making plans for two additional trips....just entirely too much to see in one!
I enjoy baseball (Little League president for 5 years), cheerleading (the competitive kind), scrapbooking, photography, reading, writing and drawing. I craft when I have them time, which is almost never, snow ski when I'm feeling brave, and I'm the ultimate running-my-daughter-to-practice-and-games-and-shopping-and-and-and-mom....seems like I'm ALWAYS in the Jeep.
In between all of this I'm a nurse in Internal Medicine and I have my own business where I teach people about photo preservation with Creative Memories.
That's me!
Michele

Hi there! A very good idea to start this thread, I often wanted to know who are all those people on the boards. I'm 26 years old, a student in Health Sciences and born and raised in the Netherlands (so excuse my sometimes bad English I'm not much of a traveller, just the annual holidays each year. I've been in France, England, Scotland, Spain, Italy, the former Yugoslavia and in the USA (New York). I'd love to go there again and see more of the country. This won't happen soon, the next trip I'm planning will be to Aruba (a friend of a friend lives there). The last few years I do 'the backpack-thing'. I love staying in hostels and meeting other people. And... it's a moneysaver. Are there more Europeans on this board? If you have any questions (for example about the Netherlands), just leave a message on this board!

Hello all... my name is Seth. I'm a semi-regular poster on the Eurotrip message boards, which is how I found this site. By the way, Kim, you've been a great help... thanks for personally answering so many of my questions!
Anyway... a little about me. I'm 21 years old, I live in the suburbs of Chicago, and I work in a warehouse. I just graduated from DeVry Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, but I haven't been able to find a good job yet. Actually, I'm not looking all that hard, because I'm planning the great Europe trip for next year. I don't think I'm ready to settle into the working routine just yet... I'm still young.
And on a slightly unrelated note, I had my annual performance review at work today, and I got a $0.50 raise... if only they knew that I was planning to quit in only about three months and leave the country... heheheh.
It's good to be here and I hope I get to know everyone well. Talk to you all later...
~Seth~
