Based on one fabulous book.....premiering on HBO tonight (Sunday) and if nothing else the scenery should be worth watching! Have been totally looking forward to this, hope it lives up to expectations!

Well, not too bad.....the book was, as ever, much better. The film gave a peculiar slant to the story not so prominent in the book. Hey guys, all in all I have to say this is a chick flick though.  BUT, the scenery was sublime and there are some really nice scenes in Sienna, particularly around the duomo. Made me sit here last evening and hunger and yearn to be back in Italy. ;D ging who gets a personal thrill watching something and saying, I've been there, that's just how/not how it really looks......e.g being The Winds of War miniseries that has many scenes in Sienna.....once I got there myself said I had no idea where the filmakers 'thought' they were but it sure as hell was not Sienna!  |
