I've been to Nova Scotia! It was a while back but I really enjoyed it................. I know it's really cheesy and a lot of people do it but I quite enjoyed the time we spent in Peggy's Cove (just outside of Halifax). It's home to that oft-photographed lighthouse on the rocks. It's a small fishing village and perfectly lovely. From there you can also take a bunch of boat tours out on the water -- some are just sightseeing stuff and others are whalewatching expedition. While you're out in the East Coast I HIGHLY suggest going to P.E.I. Whomever said it was the prettiest little spot in all of Canada wasn't lying!

Actually PEI is the #1 destination, and Nova Scotia will be some extra sightseeing. Got lots of info on PEI already. I was actually planning on doing 3 weeks all over the east coast and stops along the way, but I doubt I'll have the free time so I'm thinking of going for about a week.

We did the East Coast thing on two occassions. In New Brunswick we spent a lot of time in a small town called Saint Martin (or St. Marten). Anywayz, it was just outside of St. John. There are some sea caves that are covered when the tide comes in. There's also this lovely lighthouse some parks and covered bridges. We stayed in a country inn there and it was really nice. We also spent a lot of time near the Bay of Fundy. We like hiking the trails and watching the tides. Oh and we visited Magnetic Hill in Moncton -- I know I know -- what were we thinking!? In Nova Scotia we got lost, spent some time in some small towns, and visited Peggy's Cove. To be honest we didn't spend much time in Halifax although we've heard it's very nice. We then moved on to PEI and like I said it was our favourite. You can do the Anne of Green Gable's thing but it's more so that you can say you did it -- it's not that big a deal. But it is an absolutely beautiful place!! I thought it was near perfect. Of all the places we didn't see I would really like to go to Cape Breton. It's supposed to be really nice. If you're into natural scenery and stuff I think you'll love the East Coast. If you're not that type of person you are likely to get bored. I hope you are the former -- in which case you'll have a fantastic time. Cheers!! EDIT: I don't know why but the rolls/bread in the East Coast were really really good! Oh and it's really filling and not necessarily dirt cheap but I recommend that you do at least one lobster dinner! Yum yum!!

The funny thing is that lobsters used to be something that were so plentiful that they were the thing for poor people to eat! How things change.
