According to CTV Business channel, the dollar is supposed to hit 77¢ by the end of next year (if I heard it correctly?). There are a lot of Canadian exporters that want the dollar to stay "down", especially the lumber and manufacturing industries. I somehow doubt that it will reach 80¢, but I guess we'll see?
There is also speculation of another interest rate cut by the Bank of Canada within the next few weeks, supposedly to give our ailing economy a bit of a "kickstart" (to offset mad cow, SARS, etc.).
It is nice to see the dollar "up" a bit for a change though.
