I finally found out why I've been having so many problems with my feet and legs. Turns out my arches have fallen over an inch Old shoes no longer fit and none of the new shoes I've bought really feel good. Today I discovered a pair of shoes that make me feel like I'm walking on a cloud. They are Ryka shoes and they are designed for women. They have a nice wide area for the toe but a narrower heel area. They are also fully padded with great support. www.ryka.comWith only a week to go I can't afford to buy any more shoes only to have them hurt. I also don't have time to have the proper orthontics fitted to my feet and then made before I leave.

Good luck with those!
Wow, your arches falling over an inch has got to make a huge difference.
If it helps, consider this a general life-related expense rather than travel. You're sure to be using them a lot when you return too.
I will definitely look into these.

Will, I just want to kick myself for not seeing a Doctor earlier. I honestly thought it was the shoes I had a problem with, not that the problem was my feet. But you are right. The Merrill's I bought, and maybe even the Clarke's, should be big enough to take an orthontic when I get fitted for one.
I tried on 5 or 6 different styles of Ryka shoes. They have cross trainers, runners and walkers. Each one felt a bit different. The one I bought is a Running shoe or a walker.
I was thinking of you as I tried them on because you said you had similar problems to my own.

Hey, I'm not sure if this is the same problem, but plantar fasciitis runs in my family (my mom, aunt and me), and so we definately need arch support. I've just had problems this last year or so, but the advice my mom and aunt have given is that Birkenstocks have the best arch support (obviously you don't have time to break in a pair before you go, but I thought it might be helpful): my aunt has to wear orthodics in every shoe she owns except for her Birks.
