I haven't posted on this board in a long time, but I am now really excited because Saturday, all the tickets will be bought to go to Europe with 3 of my good friends. So I will be posting a lot more questions on this board. I will probably soon even become more than a "junior travel member." I am so excited for this trip that I have been trouble getting work done to get through my last semester to graduate college. Here is my only worry:
Has any travelled with 3 other people with them? I figured it would be better to have an even number people than odd.

I always travel with two of my best friends. Although this makes an odd number, we never ever had any problems of some-one feeling left out. We also hardly had any practical problems. Most hostels also offer three-person bedrooms or we slept in a dorm room. The only 'problem' we had was with the seating arrangements in trains and planes. Usually one of us sat alone of next to a stranger. But, as long as the seats are close to each other, this wasn't a huge problem. And, if one of us needed some 'alone-time', the other two could go out together, without anyone feeling guilty. We did get some surprised reactions from people, who couldn't believe an odd number of people can travel together witout problems. But, imo, the friendship is what can make of break a trip rather then the number of people. So, I think that, if three people are very good friends they should not bring a fourth person, if this person doen't know one or more of the other travellers very well. But, practically, four people shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure in advance what your interests are and be open about this before AND during the trip. Being nice and considered to each other ony goes so far. In my case: about a week-and-a-half! If travel partners don't share the same interests, it is some times better to do (part of) the trip separately. That's my bit. Have a great trip! Cat

I think it is more dependent on 'chemistry' (between individuals) than 'numbers' (of inidividuals). Ensure you have the right chemistry, and you'll have a blast!
