Just back from my 8 day trip to Paris.
I took a backpacker tour of 4less tours from London and paid 140£ for flight and hostel!

If you go with friends you will have a hotel room, but if you travel alone, gonna stay in the hostel.

Since this thread exists anyway, I've been looking at this site which Ryanair seems to use a lot:

They're not necessarily cheap, but they're reasonably priced, and they allow you to do things that would be difficult otherwise. For example, I liked the sound of this one:
