and wear contacts bring lots of eye drops the filthy air makes the eyes hurt.
be prepared to sneeze black stuff again- the air is filthy.
also buy food in the Somerfield grodery store. it is CHEAP!.
p.s. at clothing stores it seems okay to just whip your clothes off and try other ones on right in the middle of the store.

Tesco is good too! As is Marks and Spencer's Simply Food. But the M&S stuff is more expensive.

I still ate alot of it!

Love Tesco for their terrific net cafes! Great machines, buy a cup of tea and rates are dirt cheap. I searched them out everywhere, particularly in Scotland for a great net option. Way way better than Easy Everything for quality of macnines, service and ambiance! The one in Stirling will ever hold a warm spot.....a great store, great net cafe, great customer service!

Interesting fact about Tesco - last year they made over £2 billion in profit, when we consider revenue around £1 in every £8 spent in the UK is spent there. The way they work is by having something for everyone - a highly differentiated product line (even amongst their own brand products they have 3 or 4 sub-brands ranging from Value products to products to rival the likes of M&S etc - this has since been emulated by virtually all UK supermarkets), good marketing and lots of locations (in town and out of town).

They're cheaper than Somerfield as well, whereas M&S is seen as being a more bourgeois shop (not the kind of place a student would shop at ), although it's handy if you want a quick sandwich when waiting for a train or something.

As a 'visitor' I like M&S, love Boots...but nothing compares with dear old Tesco! Chep food, cheaper net cafes, whatever you need they have. It's UK's WalMart...but even better. Wish they would make the jump to NA...but hell, it would never be the same.
