OK, I've gotten Europe under my belt, but now I have to plan my next trip for the summer of 2005!!!
I would like to go for about 10 days (my darn job won't let me go away from 7 weeks, can you believe it? ;D)
I've thought of a few places, but would appreciate any advice/suggestions/insight.
1) Greek Isles and Turkey 2) Goa, India 3) Fiji 4) Australia/New Zealand 5) Chile, Peru, Machu Pichu
If any of you have been to these places, let me know what you think! Thanks!

you might have political trouble crossing between these places. i'm sure it can be done, just be careful! - d You won't have the problems that you used to have. The borders between the two nations are more open than they've ever been, especially to people with EU passports. This is a byproduct of Turkey's EU aspirations- they're even cooling down about the Cyprus issue, which can only be a good thing. Also, Lilise- I doubt you've done Europe totally. Europe is full of different cultures, just waiting to be experienced. What about a completely different view of Europe, such as maybe the Baltic states, or even the Balkans (Macedonia is meant to be worth visiting). Then again, if I was in your situation I'd probably choose Aus, Goa or Fiji, just because they're a bit different and are so far away. Then again 10 days in Australia isn't really worth it, especially after you consider the cost of the airfare. What about going together with some people to hire a gulet and sail around the coast of Turkey visiting loads of small islands? That would be pretty incredible.

LOL MuvverRussia, You're right I DIDN'T see all of Europe...that statement was just an affirmation that I CAN run away from my home for 7 weeks. Now I'm looking to go somewhere a little exotic. I'll eventually go back to Europe to catch what I missed the first 2 times I was there. I'm really fascinated by India, at Goa looks absoluetly beautiful. But then, again, the Greek Islands and coast of Turkey is also pretty amazing...(Sigh) Decisions, decisions

You mentioned Fiji.....how about the Cook Islands? I myself have no desire to go to Fiji due to the touristy nature of it all, but apperntly (and it may have all changed since a friend went there a couple ofyears ago) the Cook Islands aren't so touristy, but still have enough for a comfortable relaxed holiday.
If there weren't troubles over int he Solomon Islands I'd return there tomorrow. The tourist industry virtually was non-existant when I was there- sure you had your tourist spots, but people only go there for intended purposes- eg, for the war history, or for the diving- people don't go there to sit back and relax for a week on the beach!
