if only going to big cities, especially such far flung ones, budget flights would be your best bet. whichbudget.com/ would be a good place to start. - d |

Most hostels (at least good ones) have lockers in them that you can put your bags in (they are usually pretty big lockers). As for myself, I just locked my backpack and left it on/under my bed and kept my valuables in the locker. You will find as soon as you arrive that people are doing much of the same... but only be willing to leave out what you are willing to have (potentially) stolen.
