I saw the Bourne Supremacy last night.
I so much enjoyed seeing Berlin in the movie since I had just been there, and in many cases in those exact locations.
There were also a lot of shots of Moscow, which was really interesting, and Goa, India. There were fleeting glimpses of Amsterdam, Munich, Naples, New York, and a few other places.
Now the movie itself I thought was a little silly.
What movies do you like for European scenery (or any other national scenery for that matter)? I also enjoyed Lost in Translation for all of Tokyo shots (and the story somewhat too) and I know there have been a bunch of older ones I enjoyed too.

i loved the movie... the way the landscape, people and overall feeling of each place changes as he goes from one to another. i cant think of any movies at the moment though....
Oh and for Lost in Translation, i didn't really feel tokyo, but rather the way it changes my perspective of relationships. and scarlett was gorgeous.
i think movies really make people want to go there and see the places. The Beach beach, Star Wars I villa, Temple of Doom? just some that popped into my head.

I really enjoyed the Bourne Supremacy also, it was great! I liked Eurotrip, ok cheesy movie but scenes from different countries!
When I have a chance to see movies that I know where they are located in, I go for it! It's nostalgia coming back!
Everybody says I love you was in Paris too, with Woody Allen! It wasn't great, but it had great scenes of Paris!

Amelie was the main deciding factor for me to go back to Paris (and stay in Montmartre). I love that movie.

I really enjoyed The Bourne Supremacy. I thought was as good or possibly a bit better than the first one. I'll probably buy the double set when they are released on DVD.
Another movie I enjoyed recently was The Italian Job. Lately I've had the opportunity to see both the original with Michael Caine, and the newer version with Mark Wahlberg. They were both good.
Although not a movie, I also enjoy the British TV series Heartbeat which is set in the North York Moors. That was one of the main reasons I visited that area in June, and it was great to be able to actually visit the (fictional) village of Aidensfield. The show is set in the '60s (an era I remember well) so it probably wouldn't appeal to the younger generation.
The movie Under The Tuscan Sun was on TV yesterday, and I ended up watching it. Although the story isn't my usual fare, I kind of enjoyed it, especially since it's more-or-less a true story. I especially enjoyed the scenery shots of Tuscany!!! Shortly after the movie ended, I happened to be flipping through the channels and found an Andre Rieu concert "Live From Tuscany" so ended up watching that too (I believe it was filmed in Cortona in 2003) -- it was awesome!
PBS also had Visions of Greece on yesterday, and it was stunning! It was filmed entirely from a Helicopter, and I'm definitely putting Greece on my Itinerary! I "pledged" recently and bought the Visions of Italy DVD's - they are incredible also!
A few of the other shows I watch: Rick Steves (of course), Rudy Maxa Smart Travels, Avventura (it's primarily a cooking show, but also has some great information on various parts of Italy; it's given me some ideas on places to visit) and Lonely Planet/Pilot Guides/Globe Trekker. I'll probably think of a few more after I post this note.
Happy travels all!!!

As mentionned in a previous post, I fell in love with UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN. This movie is great, especially with a fragile heart mood! heheheh!
I didn't mention it because we had before but it's my alltime favorite!

I suggest reading Frances Mayes' books. They are *way* different than the movie. I haven't seen the movie, but it sounds like there is a lot more sex than there is in the books .

ahhh I used to LOVE Heartbeat!
We've done a few of those "go to the place where the tv show is filmed" thing. Lots actually. And now I watch some tv program, an English one, just before I head out of a Saturday evening, its a crap show, I can't even recall what its called, but its filmed in a village mum and I went to regularly many years ago, and the scenery around the village is basically where my parents used to live.
Wish I could recall what its called.

I really loved the Bourne Supremacy too, and as others have said think it was easily as good or better than the first. Although I must say, I enjoyed the books as well even though they were drastically different! I also recently saw the Italian Job and thought it was a fun movie, as long as you didn't take it too seriously! And yes jennifer, I agree about Eurotrip. Guilty pleasure, it was totally cheesy but fun nonetheless and tons of different cities! All these movies make me want next May's trip to be here sooner! Scott

I really enjoy watching movies shot in around the Uk (especially medieval type movies) and I am also a huge Hugh Grant fan... So here's a few I thought to mention: King Arthur, About A Boy, Nottinghill, Love Actually, Bridget Jones Diary, Braveheart (My all-time fav movie), Entrapment, and Harry Potter.. I'm missing many others but these are some of my favorites! Anyone have any suggestions of movies or places to visit from locations of movies... I'd be interested to hear! Cheers

The Italian Job is a classic movie- definitely one of my top 5 films. Even the remake one (set in LA with Charlize Theron) is good, especially the way in which it didnt set out to replicate the original. As for Eurotrip, it's a good teen comedy (especially the song Scotty doesn't know ), but that's as far as it goes. Some of the stereotypes in it are pretty annoying- also it wasn't filmed on seen, so it's pretty damn inaccurate. Also I found their depiction of Bratislava to be absolutely appalling. If you want to see some decent movies set in the UK look for 24hr party people and for Human Traffic. They're both fairly gritty but they are well done, realistic films. Also, there was this film that I watched when I did English Lit back in High School- it was set in the early 90s in a council estate in Glasgow (or possibly Edinburgh). I can't remember the name of it but it was one of the most horrifyingly realistic films I've ever seen.
